CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Today, Parminder Singh (Sikh Relief/SOPW) met with respected Advocate Puran Singh Hundal and submitted the necessary paperwork to secure Bhai Bakshish Singh’s release from Nabha Jail.
Currently at home on a 28 day parole period, Bhai Bakshish Singh is serving a sentence for charges filed by Karnal Police in February 2008, under the Arms & Explosives Act.
The Sikh Organization for Prisoner Welfare is a UK based Sikh organization, which oversees legal cases of Sikhs imprisoned in various jails in India. The organization has played an eminent role is ensuring release of a number of Sikhs who were illegally detained by the police.
