SAN JOSE, California, USA—San Jose Gurdwara sangat were shocked to find out that one of the original founders of the San Jose Gurdwara had passed away on August 29, 2014. Bhai Jit Singh was the founding president of the San Jose Gurdwara.
“It was with his guidance, vision, devotion and love for the Gurdwara, and the local community that we have this great “Asthaan” you see today on the hills of San Jose,” said local sangat.
Jit Singh was a father figure to all the local youth and treated everyone as his own. “He created a community and a gathering place for Sikhs to get together and learn, may his soul rest in peace,” said Parminder Kaur Dhillon, a local attendee of the Gurdwara. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bhai Jit Singh’s family and friends and hope Guru Sahib keeps them in Chardikala (high spirits).
ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰੈ ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਸੋ ਨਰੁ ਜੰਮੈ ਨਾ ਮਰੈ ਨਾ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
By true actions, the True Lord is met, and the Guru’s Teachings are found. Then, they are not subject to birth and death; they do not come and go in reincarnation.
