Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa Honoured at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib

2014_09_10-Gurbaksh_Singh_Hazoor_SahibNANDED SAHIB, India—Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa from Haryana, who held a hunger strike last year, was honoured at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib.  Bhai Khalsa had campaigned for the release of a number of Sikh political prisoners last year at Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar in Punjab.

Although Bhai Gurbaksh Singh was not able to seek permanent release of the detainees, four Sikh prisoners were released on parole.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa also held a “walking march” to Sri Akal Takht Sahib from Gurdwara Amb Sahib last month, in which he was joined by Sikh youth from various villages across Punjab.

Earlier yesterday, he was honoured by the sevadar of Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib, under supervision of Singh Sahib Giani Kulwant Singh for his efforts to unite the Panth and work for the well-being of political prisoners.  Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has announced that he will undergo a hunger strike again to fulfill his earlier promise of seeking release of Sikh prisoners.

Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib bestowed a full robe of honour to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, a rare blessing from the Maharastha based Takht.
