NEW DELHI—Speaking to Sikh24 from Jantar Mantar, Bhai Iqbal Singh Bhatti (France) stated that the incidents of 1984 were not riots, as Indian media portrays, rather they were a genocide of Sikhs.

Bhai Bhatti was referring to the massacres of Sikhs in New Delhi and other parts of the country that took place after the execution of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for crimes against humanity.  Gandhi was assassinated by her two Sikh bodyguards for ordering an attack on the holiest Sikh shrine, Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Bhai Bhatti has lost a lot of weight, however he continues to remain in high spirits.  He has continued spending time with Sikhs that visit him on a daily basis.  He camps at Jantar Mantar throughout the day and night.  He earlier told Sikh24 that camping at Jantar Mantar was decided as the Government receives exclusive reports on all political campaigns held there.

Bhai Iqbal Singh Bhatti is now in his 55th day of hunger strike.  He only consumes water to remain hydrated.
