NEW YORK—Sikh Sangat living in different countries worldwide has continued to express solidarity with Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa. Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has been on hunger strike since November 14 demanding release of six Sikh political prisoners who have already completed their jail terms.
Just like Punjab, there have been massive gatherings in support of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh in various countries. Sikhs in large numbers have demonstrations and rallied to raise awareness of Bhai Gurbaksh singh’s cause. Majority of these protests have taken place in front of Indian Embassies and other popular places throughout the world.
This past weekend, a big turnout was seen outside the Vancouver Art Gallery of Sikh Sangat. This was despite the freezing temperatures and snow. In addition, a demonstration was also held in Paris by Sikh Sangat of France and neighboring countries. Sikhs took to the streets to raise voice against justice by Indian Government towards minorities.
Protests have also taken place in cities like San Francisco, New York, London, Melbourne, etc.
