:dateline:The current Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) headed by Manjit Singh GK has announced the formation of an investigation committee to probe various financial irregularities that took place during the tenure of Paramjit Sarna.� The current DSGMC ruling committee came into power after ousting Sarna.� The committee would also investigate the role of Paramjit Sarna�s brother Harvinder Sarna who was responsible for leading many of DSGMC�s endeavors.
The step taken by DSGMC would bring in transparency not only into the previous financial records of DSGMC but also make sure any irregularities don�t take place in the future.� As per a statement by Manjit Singh GK, the investigation committee would include professional auditors and chartered accountants who would look into the financial statements and various other records to see why the DSGMC continued to face a financial crisis for the past several years.
Paramjit Sarna and his brother who led DSGMC faced various allegations of fraud and fraudulent activities, however with them being in power and close to the ruling Congress Government, charges were never brought up against them.
The Sarna brothers are known to have conspired to take advantage of various institutions owned by the DSGMC.� The brothers came into the limelight for having sold land belonging to the Guru Harkrishan Sahib Hospital. �In addition, Sarna sold the hospital management contract to a privatized company eyeing personal benefit.
