KARNAL, Haryana, India—The Indian state of Uttrakhand has suffered immense casualties and damage due to recent natural disasters, but the village Deoli-Brahmgram is amongst one of those villages which has faced a total loss of its male population. This village’s men travel to various popular areas of the state to earn a living but the natural disaster in the state caused many of them to not return home. To this day, most of the men of this village remain untraceable.
While many organisations are still carrying out operations to help the residents of Uttrakhand, the Haryana based Sacha Sauda cult has put forth a proposal seeking self-gain. Speaking at a function to dispatch aid for Uttrakhand, the cult leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim alleged that almost 1,500 of his followers are ready to re-marry the “widows” of Uttrakhand.
The announcement has come when hundreds of Deoli-Brahmgram women are awaiting the return of their husbands.
The Sacha Sauda cult has in the past sought mass conversions to its own faith. Women of poor families are promised an easy life and income but once they become Dera loyalists, they are often abused by the Dera leaders. The cult leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim faces various such accusations made by former dera sadhvis (female members).

For God sake, Dera sacha sauda is never never a cult. What a poor piece of journalism! A total misuse of Web space with the lowest standard of professionalism! Objective analysis should be the aim but it seems that propaganda and spreading hate remain the agenda of the author!
The Articles is very poor I guess the move made by Dera Sacha Sauda to get the Devotees to marry widows is very good.Its an example to think about giving the Widows a life time support.And I feel the Writer of Article is so concern over the allegations on Dera’chief.Do the Writer knows that in recent past Dera had made 17 Prosititutes get marry to Devotees of Dera Sacha Sauda & that too well educated Men from all class of Society.

Are you one of the person who married prostitute or these widows, if not please do not vouch for some one who claims himself a pure and he can purify any one else.

@Manoj,The guy’s security guard also actually featured on Sikh channel too and told the truth about the sick and twisted man he really is. This dera is a scam and at the end of the day is doing more harm than good. Complete joke.
