Amritsar Sahib—In a statement, Dr Manmohan Singh Bhagowal, Gatka Director for the SGPC, said that with the aim of promoting Sikhism, gatka teams of Sabat Soorat (full Sikh attired) Sikh students would be formed in all the SGPC run schools, colleges, religious institutes and universities.
In order to educate the young generation about the Sikh form of martial arts, Gatka would be introduced as an additional subject in the school curriculums. The religious sport would be promoted by holding inter-school and intercollegiate competitions.
