Thousands Protest Against Punjab Government and Radhasoamis

AMRITSAR SAHIB—Various Sikh organisations today held a protest at the GT Road highway outside Gurdwara Amanatsar Sahib (Beas) in relation to the demolition case of the Gurdwara in Wariach village by the Radhasoamis.  The protest was held in light of the case being ignored by the Punjab Government. The protest continued for a total of one hour and a blockade was placed on both sides of the highway to oncoming vehicles.

Over 1,000 Sikhs took part in the protest and Bhai Amrik Singh (Damdami Taksal, Ajnala), close associate of Bhai Balbir Singh Mucchal of Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee, led the protest against the Radhasoamis and the Punjab Government. The protest saw people of all ages and backgrounds take part.

During a meeting at the Gurdwara Sahib, leaders of various Jathebandis expressed their views on the issue and after making a Gurmatta, it was decided to blockade the GT Road highway. GT Road is the major highway in Punjab, which links together Punjab’s cities and villages.  Even though the blockade was placed only for one hour, it caused major stress to the local administration.

The protest was finally halted after Pritpal Singh Virk, SSP Amritsar, promised the Sikh organisations an unbiased inquiry within one week’s time.  As per a statement by Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, if no steps are taken by the Government within one week to bring the culprits to justice, Sikh Jathebandis will launch protests throughout Punjab against the Government and Radhasoamis.

Bhai Balbir Singh Mucchal had earlier mentioned that if the Radhasoamis do not return the Gurdwara land, all Radhasoamis deras across Punjab would face similar consequences.  Bhai Mucchal was also present at the protest.

  1. My Dear Simranjit, I think there should not be any issue if shifting is done with full respect and required ceremonies as Guru Sahib according to me is present everywhere, i mean He is Omnipresent.

As to the issue of Waraich Village, a few handful of people just don’t understand to live peacefully and try to disturb the environment by pushing the innocent followers of Guru Granth Sahib to become fighters for nothing. Had it been done forcibly, the Akal Takht Management is capable enough to see and check the matter. Thinking as Sikh, i don’t think this is the issue to be resolved just by fighting and following the misleading jathedandis. We should follow the Akal Takht, who as appealed us to maintain peace.

You i think go ahead with shifting to newer house and don’t miss to pay my homage to that Sacred place in your house.

  2. Dear all, I have a query for all, that i posted earlier as well but failed to get right answer.
My mother is a Devout Sikh and she had installed Guru Granth Sahib at our house from last 35 years and she had been worshiping there without leaving any single day. Due to my mother’s warm nature and love for God, a few of neighbours(around 20) had been coming to our house to pay homage to Guru Granth Sahib installed at our house, since there was no Gurudwara nearby.

Now that my family has grown and we are planning to shift to bigger house, I really concerned and afraid and horrified seeing the situation of Gurudwara issue at Waraich village.

Please somebody suggest me what to do in this situation as I don’t have surplus money to keep both the houses.

I am afraid if these dharnas and actions from different jathebandis also take place at my home shifting as well.

So, please thinking like a devout sikh, let me know what should be done.

  3. look nobody force no one to sell anything as i know.
If you need money you sell it. if you dont you dont sell it.
in this case panchayat sold it. panchayat cant act against residents of the village. so i belive that it was all done with there wish.
there are thousands of people all over punjab selling there land and property because they need money. Your Mother might sold her jwellery when you needed money. mine did and i cant blame anyone that shopkepper forced her to sell.
its like you go in jwellery shop or property dealer with your own wish and then sell whatever price agreed. there is no question of forcing anyone.

  4. the village panchayat is at fault but sikh jathebandis are taking a strong step against radhasoamis because this is not the first time they have done something similar. their main dera in beas is also built on encroached road. They force poor villagers to sell their land and then keep on extending their dera boundaries.

  5. I did some reserach and found.

The disputed land, belonging to Warrach panchayat, was allegedly sold to Dera Radha Soami Sect without obtaining the mandatory approval from Director Panchayats of Punjab Government.

So the fault is of village paanchayat who sold that land without approval.
they can made anything what athey want if they bought. its same as we buy a plot of land and make our house in whichever way we want to.
I think there can be a lawsuit against village panchayat for selling disputed land telling there own and also creating forge documents.

  6. if the Radhasoamis do not return the Gurdwara land, all Radhasoamis deras across Punjab would face similar consequences. Bhai Mucchal was also present at the protest.
Boley So Nay Hal, Sat Sri Akal! about time Sikhs let them have taste of their actions!
