FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—During the rally at Fatehgarh Sahib yesterday, marking the martyrdom anniversary of Shote Sahibzaade, the Aam Admi Party leaders cornered the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress on the current issues of Punjab. The AAP leaders held the Badals and Captain Amarinder Singh responsible for the plight of Punjab on various issues. The rally was filled to capacity as Punjabis flocked to the event.
Addressing masses at rally, AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira accused SAD patriarch Parkash Badal for denigrating the sanctity of Akali Dal and Panth. He alleged that the Badal signed a contract for live broadcast of Gurbani Kirtan on his own PTC Channel from the SGPC, lasting 15 years, when appointing Bibi Jagir Kaur as the President of the SGPC. It should be noted that Bibi Jagir Kaur is also facing criminal charges of murdering her daughter and has been sentenced under various sections by the courts.
Sukhpal Khaira further said that they were all were once a part of Akali Dal when the stalwarts like Harchand Singh Longowal and Gurcharan Singh Tohra were leading the SAD but as soon as Badal took over all honest activists quit.
AAP’s nominated candidate from Dakha Advocate HS Phoolka said that the Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal was misusing public funds to substantiate his ego. He said that the Deputy CM’s plan for a Water Bus at Harike Lake proved fatal for the farmers living in sites as more than 250 acres of their wheat crop failed. Notably, the outflow of water from Harike Lake was reduced to fulfil the necessary water level at the lake, which resulted in the failing of wheat crops in adjacent fields.
Taking a dig at Punjab Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, HS Phoolka said that the Captain gave clean chit to Phoolka to save his post of Congress Chief in Punjab. Stating his promise of government job to a member of every family in Punjab, Phoolka said that Captain had abolished many government jobs after becoming Chief Minister in 2002. He questioned that if it was not possible to maintain jobs at that time, then how would it be possible in current times, when Punjab is on edge of bankruptcy.
Co-Incharge of AAP affairs in Punjab MLA Jarnail Singh accused Badal of using State and Panthik resources to nourish his family. He claimed that the CM Badal camped in Delhi for nine days to get his daughter-in-law Harsimrat Badal appointed as a Union Cabinet Minister but he didn’t spend a single day in Delhi to fight for justice for the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide. Legislator Jarnail Singh kept the congregation’s attention by citing more than a dozen verses of Gurbani.
Bringing up the issues such as of farmers suicides and the VIP culture, AAP’s Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann lashed out at the Badals for the current state of Punjab.
The majority of Punjab are Sikhs and they certainly do not love and adore your Badals who have been excommunicated from sadda Sikh faith so he can never be ‘sadda’ CM. Your other man Amarinder is facing criminal charges of corruption so he too is not one of ours. Give up this dirty dream to try and control the Sikh masses especially through such degenerate men.
People of Punjab must have a leader whom the people of Punjab will justifiably be proud of as
“Sadda CM”
whom all the people of Punjab will love and adore.
