AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The Panj Pyare of Sri Akal Takht Sahib who were dismissed from employment by the SGPC last year have opened an office in parallel to SGPC. These Panj Pyare were dismissed by the SGPC for summoning the Badal appointed Jathedars to grant an unasked pardon to the Sirsa cult chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda told Sikh24, “Challenging the Akal Takht’s sanctity was never on our agenda. Our motto is to revive the objective for which the Akal Takht was established. The incumbent Jathedars have become ‘helpless’ before their political masters. We appeal to the Sikh community to unite to free the highest temporal seat from their clutches.”
Bhai Khanda added that their motive is to preach Sikhi and uphold the Sikh code of conduct among Sikhs. Explaining the need of the office, he said that with the establishment of the office, they received a permanent address for correspondence and now the worldwide Sikh masses can contact them easily.
Representatives of the Dal Khalsa, Sikh Relief UK, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, Panthik Talmel Sangathan and Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj have extended support to the Panj Pyaras.
