UPDATED–8:31 PM IST–Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala has been released from police custody. �He was detained by the Raja Sansi police on precautionary measures. �Following Bhai Wadala’s arrest, a number of Sikhs from Sri Amritsar and nearby towns gathered outside the police station and held a protest seeking his release. �Bhai Baldev Singh was scheduled to take part in a protest rally against the Badal Government.

Bhai Baldev Singh was transferred to Jind (Haryana) last year after he protested the appointment of Harcharan Singh as Chief Secretary of the SGPC. �Since his transfer to Haryana, Bhai Baldev Singh has revolted against the SGPC leadership.
