BATHINDA, Punjab—General Secretary of United Akali Dal and Convener of Bandi Singhs Rihai Sangharsh Committee S. Gurdeep Singh was produced in the court of Sub Divisional Magistrate of Bathinda on November 24.
SDM Bathinda ordered the release of Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda from 07/151 case registered against him in Police Station Kotwali of Bathinda on November 12. The Sangrur police immediately arrested him on sedition charges leveled against him for organizing the Sarbat Khalsa.
Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda has appealed to Sikh masses to beware of wrongful propaganda being promoted by what described as marionettes of the government. He has clarified that the resolutions read at Sarbat Khalsa didn’t demanded Khalistan. He clarified that Punjab government was trying to defame the sacred gathering by labelling it as threat to communal harmony across the state. He forecasted that their party along with partner groups would contest the upcoming assembly elections of 2017 and will oust the Badals from Punjab. He also appealed to Sikh activists to take Hindu bodies and other supposedly lowly classes into confidence, in the wake of the upcoming assembly elections of 2017.
