Indian Prime Minister will visit Vancouver on March 16 to participate in the G-20 summit taking place here.  Modi is expected to also give a speech during the summit.

A petition has been filed by Sikhs for Justice seeking Prime Minister Harper to ask Modi to give the right of self determination to Sikhs. The body also demanded implementation of the “Sikh Referendum” in Punjab.

It is noteworthy that Modi’s entrance to Canada was banned from the last 12 years due to his involvement in massacring Muslims in Gujarat in 2001.

During the 1947 independence talks, the Sikhs were promised the right to self determination in Punjab, where they could live as they wish.  The promise by was however never fulfilled in the free India.
