AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Renowned Punjabi film director and producer Mangal Dhillon who had made a film on ‘Khalsa’ on 300th foundation day of Khalsa Panth has announced to make a docudrama on June 1984 holocaust.

Talking to media person in a press conference here in a hotel, Dhillon said the motive of working on this project is not to prove anyone right or wrong, but to present the reality which could not come to the fore due to various reasons.

Dhillon said that “there was an aspect related to this episode that the killed persons and killers both were our own. By surfacing that episode, we became responsible for pushing Punjab 100 years back.”

“The film is not going to be made in commercial point of view. It is a little effort to reach the hidden facts related to the episode.”

“Distortion in Sikh history has caused differences but I feel that it is basic right of our coming generations to know the truth. Many people have tried to write down the facts with their own point of view. Many have shown this through digital media. However, they presented the history by carrying subjective approach. Motive of our film will be to present the whole episode by maintaining objectivity”, he said.

He added that any person who has any information to share on this subject is welcomed.  Dhillon’s words suggested that he lacks mature approach on the issue and endorses the approach of Indian main stream.
