Sikh Organizations Submit Memorandum to Governor Against Baba Daduwal’s Arrest

Baba DaduwalCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Representatives of various Sikh organizations, accompanied by a number of leaders submitted a memorandum to the Punjab governor earlier today, in which they demanded release of Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal.

Earlier, all the leaders assembled at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Educational Center, Sector 28 and discussed various concerned issues. The meeting was conducted by Prof. Manjit Singh, Chandigarh unit president of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar). Apart from others, newly formed HSGMC (adhoc) chief Jagdish Singh Jhinda, vice president Didar Singh Nalvi were also present on the occasion.

While speaking to media, Sikh leaders jointly said that so-called Panthik government of Punjab was violating the laws openly. They accused that Baba Daduwal had been detained by police illegally following the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal.

“He (Daduwal) has been framed in a forged case and there is no hope of justice from the side of the government. So we submitted the memorandum in this regard to the president of India and Home ministry of India through the governor”, they added.

In the absence of Governor Shivraj Patil, the memorandum was accepted by office secretary Madan Lal Garg.
