Bargari Sacrilege: Key Suspect Along With Three Others Arrested by Police

FARIDKOT—Under pressure of agitation begun by Sarbat Khalsa appointed Interim Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, the Punjab police has speed up investigation into sacrilege cases occurred in Punjab during 2015. The Punjab police have arrested a key suspect named Mohinder Pal Bittu along with other three Sirsa cult disciples namely a dairy owner Sunny Kanda, his brother Sukhpreet Singh and Jaggi, their relative from Mansa.

Resident of Kotkapura and a bakery owner, Mohinder Pal Bittu is learnt to be a state committee member of the Sirsa cult in Punjab. Bittu was on run to evade arrest in violence committed at Panchkula after conviction of Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a rape case. The Punjab police have arrested him from Palampur of Himachal Pradesh.

Mohinder Pal Bittu is a key suspect in stealing a holy corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from village Burj Jawahar Singh Wala on June 1, 2015. He is also considered responsible for scattering ‘Angs’ of stolen corpus in front of Gurdwara Sahib in Bargari to hurt Sikh sentiments on October 12, 2015.

It is pertinent to note here that the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has been served an ultimatum by the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Takht Jathedars to arrest the accused culprits within a month or get ready to face the heat.
