Akhand Kirtani Jatha, Damdami Taksal Ajnala Extend Support to Sarbat Khalsa

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In a press conference, all international bodies of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha decided to provide unanimous support to the Sarbat Khalsa taking place on November 10.

Several senior members of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha were part of the international conference that took place on November 7.  Notably, representatives from Punjab, India, UK, USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia discussed a number of issues before extended support to Sarbat Khalsa.

In a press release, the Akhand Kirtani Jatha stated – “At a time when the attacks on Khalsa Panth have reached unprecedented levels, we cannot afford to stay divided. Our brothers languishing in Indian prisons have also pleaded for Panth to come together.”

Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala (Chief of Damdami Taksal, Ajnala) also visited the site of Sarbat Khalsa and inquired about the preparations.  He also extended support to the initiative and appealed others to attend.  Bhai Ajnala also met with the North American delegation today and discussed issues involving Sarbat Khalsa resolutions.

Mohkam Singh

President of United Akali Dal, Bhai Mohkam Singh has stated that his organization was working hard to bring all Sikh bodies together for the upcoming Sarbat Khalsa.  Talking with Sikh24 correspondents, he stated that issues of no legal action against culprits of Bargari incident and the illegal detention of political Sikh prisoners in Indian jails will be deliberated, along with the termination of the current Takht Jathedars.
