Sacrilege in Rajasthan: Holy Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji desecrated near Sri Ganganagar

SRI GANGANAGAR, Rajasthan—An extremely unfortunate incident of the sacrilege of holy saroop of living eternal Sikh master Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has today come to fore in village Sadhuwali of Sri Ganganagar district in Rajasthan. A wave of sharp outrage has spread among the nearby residents and the police have arrived at the spot.

Sharing the information with media, Sikh activist Tejinder Pal Singh Timma, who heads the Sikh Advisory Committee (Rajasthan), informed that the incident occurred in the absence of the appointed Granthi Singh and Sewadar. He added that the appointed Granthi Singh left for home by asking the Sewadar to take care of the shrine, however he too left the Gurdwara Sahib for his own work.

“Finding absence of anyone in Gurdwara Sahib, someone entered into Gurdwara Sahib and threw down the saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji while also scattering the Rumala Sahib,” Timma informed.
