400th Parkash Purab: Language Department to publish prominent books

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—To promote the life values and philosophy of ninth Sikh master Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the Language Department of Punjab has begun efforts to publish several books in commemoration of the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

In 2019, the Language Department had also tried to get highly demanded 25 books republished but only Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha’s Mahankosh could be printed while the other 24 books are under the process to get published.  

The Language Department of Punjab is also trying to get 8 important books besides the 5 books related to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. These books also include the book commemorated to the great martyrdom of Chaar Sahibzaades named Shaheedan-e-Wafa which was penned by Hakeem Yogi Allah Yaar Khan. This book is being reprinted due to its high demand.

Similarly, other books including “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji” penned by Kapurthala’s king Daljit Singh, Dr. Navratan Kapur’s book, and a newly written book by Amarjit Kaur are also being published.

The Language Department is also publishing a special edition of the magazine “Jan-Sahit” commemorated to the ninth Sikh master Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

All these books are likely to get published by April next year.

Language Department’s director Karamjit Kaur informed that the department was publishing a majority of these books till 1977 but after that these books were not published for the last more than three decades. “Now, these books are being republished in commemoration of the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji,” she added.
