CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Reacting to the former Takht Sri Patna Sahib Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh’s presence at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, demand to excommunicate him have come forward. Many prominent Sikh activists have requested SGPC appointed Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar as well as the Sarbat Khalsa Jathedars to take a strong stand against Giani Iqbal Singh.
Bhai Gajinder Singh, the exiled pro-freedom Sikh leader, in a statement, said that Giani Iqbal Singh had has strong allegiance with the RSS for long. “He has had an allegiance with Nagpur (a stronghold of the RSS) from the beginning. Such a person cannot be called Anandpuri (ie. holding allegiance with the Khalsa Panth). However, he is not alone. There are many others like him who appear as Sikhs but are working for the RSS,” he said.
When asked about excommunicating Giani Iqbal Singh from the Panth, Bhai Gajinder Singh told Sikh24 that such people never expressed any interest in the propagation of Sikhi, so he feels no pain at their departure from the Panth.
Amrik Singh Ballowal also sought exemplary punishment for Giani Iqbal Singh.
Speaking to Sikh24, Amrik Singh Ballowal said that Giani Iqbal Singh has hurt Sikh sentiments by attending the inauguration ceremonies in Ayodhya. “For this unforgivable act, he should be awarded exemplary punishment so that no one could dare in future to make such mistake again,” he added.
“While the entire Sikh Panth kept a distance from Ram Mandir’s inauguration ceremony, Giani Iqbal Singh paid a visit to Ayodhya to prove his loyalty towards RSS,” he maintained.
Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala said that Giani Iqbal Singh has always stirred controversies. “I want to appeal to the entire Sikh Nation that Guru Nanak Dev Ji destroyed family linages and Guru Gobind Singh Ji started his own linage with the initiation of Khalsa Panth.”
He urged the Khalsa Panth to boycott such leaders.
Nonsense. Khalistani agenda driven at the behest of Pakistan. Sikhs and Hindus share a very close relationship. So what if a Sikh Jathedar has visited a temple. So many Hindu religious leaders visit the Harimandar Sahib. Bhagwan Ram is a manifestation of Lord Vishnu (Hari) whose name is there in the Guru Granth Sahib.
These extremist leaders are trying to divide Sikhs and Hindus. All religions born out of Sanatan Dharm, be it Jainism, Buddhism or Sikhism should live together in peace and be careful of the Abrahamic religions dividing us.
RSS is trying to create confusion in Sikh Panth . There are several sikh leaders who for the sake of money or for getting positions they are partnering with such organisations they are causing great loss to the Panth. Some of our Akali leaders have caused great damage to the Sikh Panth in exchange for kursies. Now it is the responsibility of Sikh intelligentsia to be active to contradict these damaging writings and lectures and removing these misconceptions from the Sikh history. One thing more we must discard all politicians who have looted Punjab, A to Z which ever party they belong, as they are responsible for causing damage to their own Sikh values . Discard all present Sikh politicians who so ever they are. Select honest and committed Sikh leaders to lead the Panth. All hues of political leadership whatever their party or popularity. Sikh leaders should select 100 members for elections of 22 assembly. Leave 17 seats for other individuals. Declare CM candidate and ministers from these hundred chosen people. Let those people be associated with this movement of rebirth of Punjab. Let it be clear to all those who want to join the savePunjab movement to be selfless and not kursi seakers.
how hindus and sikhs can be saparated. there r marriages and family relations between sikhs and hindus. these people seems to be tilted towards islam. these should know the plight of sikhs in afganistan and pakistan. remember when the islamists will be larger than other religions , they will supress all. their thinking is very different . these sikh leaders which r self styled are in dreams and totally ingnorant about islamists and ground reality of punjab.
Marriages are mutually exclusive to the Determination of Sikhs per the United Nation Chartered signed by India. All this RSS non sense needs to be shredded for the sake of progressive India.
