CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Misusing the concept of Punj Pyare in the Khalsa Panth, former Akali leader Sucha “Singh” Langah has succeeded in securing a pardon for his immoral deeds. Notably, Punj Pyare deployed at Gurdwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadar in Gurdaspur allowed Langah to partake in Amrit Sanchar.
Langah has secured this pardon by copying the trick from 2015’s episode when Akal Takht’s Punj Pyare had summoned Sukhbir Badal while going against the then Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.
Sikh24 has learned that Gurdwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadar (Gurdaspur) is controlled by a Nihang Sikh Dal led by Baba Tarsem Singh who is considered to be a close associate of Langah.
It is noteworthy here that Sucha “Singh” Langah was excommunicated by the Akal Takht in October-2017 after his sex video with a lady went viral over social media. The woman had leveled allegations of rape on him but later he got acquitted as she withdrew her statements in Court.
After getting acquitted in this case, Langah approached Akal Takht three times while seeking re-initiation into the Sikh community. However, the Akal Takht Jathedar remained tightlipped on this issue observing resentment among Sikh masses against Langah’s immoral act.
Sources have informed that Langah, along with his family, appeared before the Punj Pyare seeking an apology for his immoral act. The Punj Pyare accepted his request while addressing the punishment of sweeping floors of the Gurdwara for 21 days for an hour daily.
Interestingly, the Punj Pyare also initiated him by giving pahul of Amrit before completion of punishment awarded to him.
Meanwhile, the SGPC appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has said that Langah can’t secure pardon using this trick. “The Akal Takht’s decision of excommunicating him stands intact,” he said.
