Eyewitness reveals how Sumedh Saini brutally murdered Balwant Singh Multani

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Advocate Gursharan Kaur Mann, an eyewitness of inhuman torture on Sikh youth Balwant Singh Multani, has publicly narrated the painful reality of Multani’s murder by Ex-DGP Sumedh Saini. She has also got recorded her statement with the Investigating Officer of the case filed by victim’s brother Palwinder Singh Multani.

“During the night of December 13, 1991, the cops of sector-17 police station produced Balwant Singh Multani before Sumedh Saini. He was tortured so cruelly that he was even unable to stand. When he fell down, Sumedh Saini kicked him so cruelly that his eye came out,” eyewitness Gursharan Kaur Mann told media.

She further informed that Balwant Singh Multani was screaming and beseeching out of pain due to inhuman torture being committed on him. “Next morning, he was lying unconscious in a pool of blood. Saini came and ordered the cops to put him inside the vehicle and they took him along with them,” she revealed.

“In 1993, Sumedh Saini asked me and my husband that they will receive a letter in the name of Balwant Singh Multani and they should show it to Balwant Singh Multani’s father IAS Darshan Singh Multani so that he could be misled that his son was alive,” she said.

It is pertinent to note here that Advocate Gursharan Kaur Mann’s statement was also recorded by the CBI during its investigation in 2007 carried out on the directions of Punjab & Haryana High Court.
