CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has today written a letter to the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh seeking arrangements for bringing back the pilgrims stuck at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib (Nanded, Maharashtra) and Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib (Patna, Bihar). Notably, these pilgrims have got stuck there due to sudden lockdown in coronavirus affected states of India.
In this letter, Longowal has expressed commitment to extend every possible help in accomplishing this task as well as in battling against the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
Beside it, Longowal has also appealed these pilgrims to hold patience and stay there till the Punjab government doesn’t make arrangements for commuting them back to their homes.
Meanwhile, Longowal has also familiarized the Punjab CM about the SGPC’s preparedness to accommodate the coronavirus suspects in the rest houses of Gurdwara Sahibans who have been asked to get quarantined for 14 days. He has informed that the SGPC was also ready to offer premises of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University for quarantining suspects.
It is noteworthy here that all modes of transportation have been suspended for an indefinite time in almost all over India due to coronavirus outbreak.
