NEW DELHI, India—Following the directions of the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has announced to offer the rest house of Gurdwara Majnu Tilla Sahib for quarantining the coronavirus suspects. The DSGMC is going to formally extend this offer to Delhi government soon.
In a video uploaded over social media, DSGMC president Manjinder Singh has informed that the DSGMC was also ready to support the Delhi government for distributing the food packets to poor and needy people.
It is pertinent to note here that the AAP led Delhi government has come up with a plan to deliver food packets to the homes of needy people so that even small gatherings could be avoided. Beside it, the Delhi government is also coming up with a plan to provide direct financial assistance to the general labor class.
On the other hand, the state government of Punjab is still not being able to decide how to help the general labor class in this hard time to ensure continuous availability of bread.
