CHANDIGARH, Punjab—As soon as the video of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh praising assassins of former Punjab CM Beant “Singh” went viral over social media, Congress parliamentarian Ravneet Bittu has emerged out to express objections over Jathedar’s remark.
Notably, Ravneet Bittu is a grandson of the former Punjab CM Beant “Singh” who was assassinated on August 31, 1995 for permitting a large scale massacre of innocent Sikh youths in Punjab.
While addressing the Antim Ardas of Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora’s mother Bibi Pritam Kaur, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh had highly hailed the Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora and others besides taking on people for electing wrong candidates to head their constituencies.
Reacting sharply to the clip, Bittu challenged Giani Harpreet Singh to contest the next parliamentary elections. Bittu said he would appeal to religious heads of various organizations regarding the remarks.
