CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has lodged a police complaint against the Hindu girl named Akanksha Thakur who had shot a video while dancing on a Punjabi song inside Sri Harmandir Sahib and had uploaded it over social media platform named Tik Tok.
Sharing the development with media, Sri Harmandir Sahib’s Manager Jaswinder Singh Deenpur informed that he has lodged a written complaint to the Amritsar Police Commissioner seeking strong action against this girl. “We have sought the indictment of Akanksha Thakur for hurting religious sentiments of the Sikh community,” he added.
Meanwhile, it has come to fore that Akanksha Thakur has apologized for her mistake by arguing that she had gone to Sri Harmandir Sahib for the first time. “I was neither aware of the code applicable inside Sri Harmandir Sahib nor anyone stopped me from doing so,” said she in an apologizing video.
how harsh is this.. is this Sikhi…. we are Not Taliban, or any other religious extremists..Christian crusaders… or right wing rss. Surely she has admitted her error, and apologised. It feels wrong to be victimizing.. Sikhi teaches compassion and acceptance where there is sincere apology. Yes if she repeated all over again, then take action. But right now doesn’t make sense at all.
She’s saying she was unaware. ND I think people do that in temples. It’s just ignorance. Was everyone sleeping when she was actually shooting for the video..? You’ve received an apology ND obviously she would be sorry at her heart. ND probably won’t ever go to Golden Temple because of insensible attitude of some people.
