SGPC seeks public holiday on martyrdom day of Chhote Sahibzaade

dateline:SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has asked the Punjab Government to declare the martyrdom day of Chhote Sahibzaade as gazetted holiday in Punjab. Notably, the martyrdom day of Chhote Sahibzaade will be observed on December 28 this year. 

SGPC president has said that the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh should immediately announce public holiday in all over Punjab rather than confining the day only up to Fatehgarh Sahib.

He said that Chhote Sahibzaade have set an example in the religious history of the world by getting martyred for the righteousness, truth and independence of humanity. “These pages of Sikh history are full of emotions and the whole Sikh community cordially remembers Chhote Sahibzaade and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji during these days,” he added. 

Longowal said that the whole Sikh community and Punjabis living across the world pay tribute to the martyrdom of Sahibzaade, so Punjab Government should also announce the public holiday in the respect of Chhote Sahibzaade.

SGPC president also demanded that this day should be added permanently in the list of government holidays of Punjab.
