:dateline:The state government of Orissa has announced to reconstruct Gurdwara Mangu Mutt which was demolished during the past days. Beside it, the Orissa government has also announced that Gurdwara Baoli Sahib will not be demolished and a beautiful residential complex will be constructed for the Sikh sangat in the 12 acres land of Nanak Mutt. The Orissa government will do this reconstruction on its own expenses.
It is noteworthy here that the Orissa government had demolished historic Mangu Mutt situated in Jagannath Puri to accomplish a beautification project. The Orissa government was also planning to demolish Baoli Sahib but now the government seems on back foot after observing sharp Sikh wrath.
Sharing the development with media, Punjab legislator Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains informed that they met Orissa’s Minister for Home Affairs Mr. Divya Shankar Mishra on December 23 who has assured them to reconstruct the Gurdwara Sahib (Mangu Mutt) on same place.
It is learnt that the Orissa’s Minister for Home Affairs Mr. Divya Shankar Mishra, Orissa’s Principal Secretary, IAS Krishan Kumar (Incharge of beautification project of Jagannath Puri) and Jagannath Puri’s MLA Bobby Dass also made these revelations in a special press conference.
