Count golak money under CCTV surveillance, Longowal directs 80 Gurdwara Managers

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Amid reports about attempts to embezzle golak money in some Gurdwaras, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has directed 80 managers of various Gurdwaras to count the golak money under CCTV surveillance. Notably, there have been several reports about attempts to embezzle money by some SGPC employees who have been suspended now.

Interacting with media in Sangrur, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal informed that the managers have been directed to ensure that all CCTV cameras are working properly. “Strict action will be taken against the managements of the shrines where CCTV cameras are not functional,” he added.

“I have directed the managers to take quick action if any employee is found using drugs, involved in corruption or behaving rudely with sangat. We want to bring overall improvement in the entire system,” Longowal said.
