550th Birthday Celebrations: Modi releases commemorative coin in Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand—In commemoration of the 550th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a coin in Bangkok. Notably, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three day visit to Thailand to participate in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), East Asia, and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) summits.

Addressing a gathering there, Modi said that the ideology of Sri Guru Nanak Dev is a heritage for the whole humanity. “We need to convey the benefits of his legacy to the entire world,” he added.

Modi further said that he has informed that the 500th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was enthusiastically celebrated in Thailand. “I am sure that the 550th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will also be celebrated with great fervor,” he added.

Narendra Modi also hailed the Thai Sikhs for building a garden in Fitsanulok after the name of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
