Pakistan to grant tourist visa to Sikh diaspora aspirant of paying obeisance at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib

LAHORE, Punjab—The federal government of Pakistan has decided to grant tourist visas to the non-Indian Sikh pilgrims aspirant of paying obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib. It is learnt that these non-Indian Sikh pilgrims won’t have to pay the $20 entry fee imposed by the Pakistan government on the Sikh pilgrims entering through Kartarpur corridor from India.

Notably, a large population of Sikhs is inhabitant of US, Canada, Australia, UK and European countries from the last many generations. The current generation of some of these Sikhs has not come to India ever for a single time, so getting access of Kartarpur corridor for them from India seemed a cumbersome process.

Sources within the Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry have revealed that non-Indian Sikhs getting this visa will also be able to pay obeisance at other historic Sikh shrines of Pakistan.

It is noteworthy here that the much awaited Kartarpur corridor will be opened for the Sikh pilgrims residing in India on November 9. NRI Sikhs, possessing OCI card issued by the Indian government, are also eligible to apply for the permit required to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib via Kartarpur corridor.
