550th Birthday Celebrations: Pakistan to grant 10,000 visas this year

LAHORE, Punjab—On the eve of the 550th birthday celebration in November this year, the federal government of Pakistan will grant visa to 10,000 Sikh devotees. The first jatha of Sikh devotees will depart for Pakistan during the first week of November.

It is learnt that the Pakistan government has arranged a special train for the Sikh devotees who will be picked up from the Wagah railway station and will be commuted to Nankana Sahib.

PSGPC president Satwant Singh has invited the worldwide Sikh community to celebrate this historic eve at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan.

He informed that a tent city will be established from mid-October where the Sikh pilgrims arriving in Pakistan from all corners of the world will be accommodated. “Additional counters will be established by the custom and immigration authorities at the Wagah border station for the convenience of Sikh pilgrims,” he added.
