British Sikh woman wins 3 gold and 2 silver medals in junior category of Commonwealth games

LONDON, England (UK)—A British Sikh girl named Karanjeet Kaur Bans has brought laurels to her country as well as the Sikh community by winning three gold and two silver medals in the in the juniors category of ladies competition in the Commonwealth games. She won these three gold medals in 140 kg squat, 80 kg seat and 160 kg deadlift besides bagging two silvers in the seat press and seat press-just rivalries.

It is pertinent to note here that Karanjeet Kaur Bains was the primary Sikh female to represent to Great Britain at the World Championships.

Bains’ adventure has not been a smooth one. She originally represented at 19 at the Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 2015, breaking two British records and putting fifth against competitors four years her senior.
