Dal Khalsa condoles unfortunate killing of America’s first turbaned Sikh cop Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Dal Khalsa has expressed deep grief over the unfortunate killing of Deputy Sheriff Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal in Houston, US.

Party spokesman Kanwar Pal Singh has said that Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal would always be remembered for outstanding and exemplary conduct and service.  “He desired to conquer hate that was spread against his community by serving as a diligent turbaned Sikh police officer. Our condolences and prayers go to his family and friends,” said Kanwar Pal Singh.

Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal made headlines after becoming the first police officer to gain a religious exemption to wear a turban as part of his uniform while serving in the US police department.
