Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s parole plea weakens as Sirsa’s Revenue Officer clarifies there is no land on his name

SIRSA, Haryana—Latest developments reveal that the Revenue Officer of Sirsa has clarified that the Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim doesn’t have any agriculture land on his name in Sirsa. Notably, Gurmeet Ram Rahim had moved a parole plea last week to look after his agriculture land following which the Jail Superintendent sought a report from the Sirsa DC who, in turn, sought a report from revenue officials (tehsildar) and the district police.

It is learnt that the Revenue officer of Sirsa has said in a report that the Sirsa cult has over 250 acres of agriculture land registered in the name of a trust, but Gurmeet Ram Rahim is neither the owner nor the cultivator of this land.

Meanwhile, the Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has also clarified that his government will decide upon granting parole to Gurmeet Ram Rahim on the basis of the Divisional Commissioner’s recommendation.
