Talk over technical aspects of Kartarpur corridor suspends between India and Pakistan

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—To deliberate upon the various technical aspects of the Kartarpur corridor project for the fourth time, the technical experts of India and Pakistan underwent a meeting on May 27 at zero line of Indo-Pak border near Dera Baba Nanak. The meeting started at 11:30 am and continued for about two hours in which around 9-9 officials from the duo sides discussed upon the technical aspects of this upcoming historic corridor.

The media persons were not allowed to do coverage of this meeting and even the Indian officials didn’t share any detail about the proceedings of the meeting after undergoing meeting.

Sources have informed that the Indian and Pakistan officials couldn’t agree upon the length of the bridge being constructed over the Raavi river. Actually, the Indian officials asked the Pakistan officials to construct bridge up to the Immigration terminal to be constructed on Indo-Pak border as the ground road may get blocked during the floods.

However, the Pak officials bluntly refused to accept this demand of Indian officials by saying that boundary can be constructed around the road to save it during the floods.

On this, the Indian as well as the Pak officials left the meeting venue without discussing the other aspects of this corridor as well as the next date of the meeting.

In this way, the talk over technical aspects of this historic corridor has been suspended for an indefinite time.
