It is unfair to portray Guru Sahib in animated form, says Akal Takht Jathedar

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Amid emerging controversy over the upcoming animation movie “Dastaan – E – Miri Piri”, the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has clarified that the portrayal of Guru Sahib in animated form is unfair. He has directed the Chhattampeer Productions, the producer of this movie, to get nod from the SGPC before releasing the full movie.

Talking about a complaint in this concern, Giani Harpreet Singh has told the Chhattampeer Productions that taking a decision merely on the basis of trailer is not possible so the producers must submit the full movie to SGPC for getting its nod.

Giani Harpreet Singh has strictly warned the producers not to release the movie without SGPC’s nod.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the SGPC has called upon a meeting of its sub-committee to take  a decision on this upcoming movie “Dastaan – E – Miri Piri”.

An SGPC’s press note reveals that the sub-committee members will meet at SGPC’s headquarters on May 29 at sharp 12 o’clock and will take a decision about the movie after thoroughly investigating the various aspects. “The sub-committee’s report will be sent to Sri Akal Takht Sahib,” reads the press note.
