550th Birthday Celebrations: PSGPC Approves Design of Coin and Postal Ticket

NANKANA SAHIB, Punjab—The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has approved the design of coins and postage stamps to be released on the eve of 550th birthday celebrations due in November this year.

Sharing the development with media, the PSGPC informed that one side of the coin will have a picture of Gurdwara Asthan Nankana Sahib while on the other side the word “Islamic Republic of Pakistan” will be inscribed along with numeric figure “550”.

The postal stamp, which will be of Rupees 8 and could be used in the normal routine, will also have the picture of Nankana Sahib and numeric figure “550” denoting the five and half centenary birthday celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The PSGPC has also expressed satisfaction over the preparations being made by the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that a tent city will be setup in Nankana Sahib to accommodate around 25,000 Sikh pilgrims expected to arrive in Pakistan from all over the world during the 550th birthday celebrations.
