Malerkotla Sacrilege: Giani Harpreet Singh Appeals Sikh Community to Remain Vigilant

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Strongly condemning the recent sacrilege incident occurred at village Hothoa (Malerkotla), the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has sought strict action against sacrilege culprits. He has said that this incident was extremely painful and strict action must be taken against the person responsible for it.

“The SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal is investigating the incident,” he said while appealing the Sikh community to remain cautious to put control over the occurrence of such unfortunate incidents in future.

It may be recalled here that some sacrilege culprits had set afire a holy corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by entering into Gurdwara Sahib of village Hathoa of Malerkotla during the intervening night of May 11 and 12.
