CHANDIGARH, Punjab—On March 26, the SGPC appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh instructed the newly appointed DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa to submit a written clarification within 15 days whether he dyes his beard or not. As per sources, the Akal Takht Jathedar was regularly receiving complaints about Manjinder Singh Sirsa that he dyes his beard which is against the Sikh tenets.
It may be recalled here that BJP affiliated Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who also heads the legislative assembly of Rajouri garden (Delhi), was elected as a president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee on March 15. Earlier, he was serving in the DSGMC as a general secretary.
