Kotkapura Firing Incident: Ex-SSP Charanjit Sharma on Two Days Police Remand

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma was produced before the Faridkot Court by the Special Investigation Team on March 25. He was brought on production warrants from the Central Jail of Patiala by naming him in the Kotkapura firing incident.

On being demanded the custody of Charanjit Sharma by the SIT, the Court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) sanctioned his two days police custody. Now, he will be produced before the Court on March 27.

It may be recalled here that the Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma was arrested by the Special Investigation Team in Behbal Klan firing case on January 27. A police team headed by a DSP rank officer had arrested him by conducting a raid at his residence in Hoshiarpur. He had tried to escape during the police raid by crossing the boundary wall of his, but he couldn’t succeed due to strong besieging.
