CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Political Sikh prisoners Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara, Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora and Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Lakha (Narangwal) have strongly opposed the five member committee’s announcement of staging protest outside the Burail jail of Chandigarh. Notably, the five member committee has announced to stage three hours long on March 6 from 12 pm to 3 pm.
In a press statement issued through Bhai Jang Singh, trio Sikh prisoners imprisoned in Beant Singh assassination case have said that they don’t recognize Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara as a Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. “We respect the contributions made by the members of this five member committee, but we won’t allow them to politicize the issue of political Sikh prisoners,” they said while adding that they just recognize Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara as their team member.
Meanwhile, a statement of Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara is also getting viral over social media in which he has expressed his anger towards Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara for giving a clean chit to Wadhawa Singh Babbar who played a key role in his arrest (according to Bhai Tara). He has bluntly warned the committee members not to play “hypocrisy” outside Burail Jail.
