BREAKING: Former SSP Charanjit Sharma Arrested by SIT

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Former SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma has been arrested by the Special Investigation Team during the wee hours today. Information from reliable sources reveals that a police team headed by a DSP rank officer arrested him by conducting raid at his residence in Hoshiarpur.

It is notable here that the former SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma is a prime accused in Behbal Klan tragedy in which two Sikh youths had attained martyrdom in an unprovoked firing opened by the Police cops on peacefully protesting Sikhs seeking justice in sacrilege cases.

On January 25, SIT head IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh had said that Charanjit Sharma was required for questioning as he is a prime accused in firing incidents.

It may be recalled here that the Punjab & Haryana High Court had quashed the petitions moved by killer cops challenging SIT and seeking CBI probe into the sacrilege incidents and police firing incidents of Kotkapura and Behbal Klan.
