Sajjan Kumar Convicted for Life; Asked to Surrender before December 31

NEW DELHI, India—After 34 years of the barbaric carnage of Sikhs carried out by the Congress headed fanatic Hindu mobs during the 1984 Sikh genocide, the Delhi High Court today addressed life imprisonment to the key genocide culprit Sajjan Kumar. Beside it, the Court also extended the quantum of sentence addressed to Yadav and Kishan Khokar in this case by the trial court from 3 to 10 years.

Hailing the truthfulness of three prosecution witnesses Bibi Jagdish Kaur, Bibi Nirpreet Kaur and S. Jagsher Singh, the Court said that Sajjan Kumar would have been convicted much earlier if the Delhi police won’t have shielded him. Notably, Sajjan Kumar has been at large since 34 years and was being rewarded with high profile political posts by the Congress.

Media reports reveal that Sajjan Kumar broke out on hearing the Court’s verdict and started asking the Court to forgive him, but the Court told him that his crime was not worth pardoning.

It is learnt that the Court has asked him to surrender before the authorities to go to jail before December 31.

It may be recalled here that the trial Court had acquitted Sajjan Kumar in this case of brutally massacring five Sikhs in Raj Nagar of Delhi’s cantonment area on April 30, 2013 by expressing doubt over his role. However, the trial Court had convicted five people, including then Congress MLA Mahendra Yadav and then Congress councilor Balwan Khokhar and sentenced them to life.

Later, the investigating agency CBI had challenged the trial Court’s decision of acquitting Sajjan Kumar in the Delhi High Court.

“Monday is a big day of my life – result of 34 years struggle. I had resigned from post of LOP to appear in this case. In view of strong evidence, will surely succeed” wrote Advocate HS Phoolka from his Facebook wall who fought a long legal battle for the victims.
