Pakistan Scolds Indian Media’s Malicious Propaganda on Kartarpur Corridor Issue

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Strongly objecting over the relentless malicious propaganda being aired by the mainstream Indian media channels against Pakistan on Kartarpur corridor issue, the Pakistan government has said that the Kartarpur corridor has been opened just for fulfilling the longstanding aspirations of the Sikh community. Notably, the Indian media had begun a false propaganda against Pakistan and Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu immediately after groundbreaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor by the Pakistani PM Imran Khan on November 28.

The Foreign Office of Pakistan has stated that the Pakistan government is quite disappointed over the malicious propaganda being waged by a particular section of media on Pakistan’s initiative of opening Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.

“We have received overwhelmingly positive response from the Sikh community — not only in India and Pakistan but also from across the globe,” said the Foreign Office of Pakistan in a statement.

“The Government and people of Pakistan fully share their joy on this historic breakthrough and solemnly affirm that they will make every possible contribution to a befitting celebration of the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th birth anniversary in 2019,” reads a statement by the Foreign office of Pakistan while expressing Pakistan’s stance to continue to do what is right for advancing this noble initiative.

It is noteworthy here that during the groundbreaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor on November 28, the Pakistani PM Imran Khan had invited the Indian government to begin a dialogue on Kashmir dispute after which the mainstream channels of India started airing malicious propaganda against Pakistan.

The Pakistani side of Kartarpur corridor is expected to get completed in six months while the Indian side of the corridor is likely to get completed in four months. The Sikh pilgrims will get visa-free access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib once the corridor projects on both sides of the Indo-Pak international border completes.
