CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Veteran Akali leader Ranjit Singh Brahmpura today intensified his rebellious voice against the dominance of Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia over the Shiromani Akali Dal by holding a rally at Chohla Sahib. He bluntly spoke against Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia for undermining the party base by detaching the Shiromani Akali Dal from the Panthik issues.
Holding Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia responsible for exonerating Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim by pressurizing the SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars, Brahmpura said that the Badal family was under pressure to release Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s movie “Messenger of God” in Punjab. “So, they called the Takht Jathedars at their residence in Chandigarh and pressurized them to grant an unasked pardon to Gurmeet Ram Rahim” he added.
Brahmpura further said that the SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars are appointed on the pre-condition that they will have to abide by the directions of Badal family. He took on Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia for undermining the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib where even the Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh had to serve the punishment.
On being reminded of the scrapping of Sewa Singh Sekhwan’s party membership by Sukhbir Badal, Brahmpura said in an abusing manner that he is ready to face any consequences to save Shiromani Akali Dal’s existence.
