Cabinet Ministers Channi and Randhawa Oppose Captain for Delay in Action Against Akalis

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In a cabinet meeting of Punjab government on October 17, the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh reportedly faced opposition by two Cabinet ministers for the delay in action against Akali leaders and the killer cops on sacrilege issue. It is learnt that the Cabinet ministers Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa expressed concern over the day by day intensifying wrath among Sikh masses against Congress for not taking any action against sacrilege culprits.

The duo Cabinet ministers told the Punjab CM that the congregation at Bargari on October 7 and October 14 was a manifestation of anger, not only against the Akalis, but also against the Congress. They also warned him that the issue might prove fatal for their party if the sacrilege culprits and killer cops won’t get punished by time.

“The way people were hounding the Akalis, the day was not far when Congress leaders would face a similar situation for not acting against Akalis” Sukhjinder Randhawa told Captain Amarinder Singh.

Media reports reveal that Captain Amarinder Singh replied to the duo Cabinet ministers by saying that he had already resolved to accelerate investigation on the matter by constituting a Special Investigation Team.
