Postal Ticket Commemorated to Chithisinghpora Massacre Released by Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—The Federal Government of Pakistan has released 20 postal tickets commemorated to the Kashmiri victims of Indian state’s excesses. One of these 20 tickets is commemorated to the Sikh victims of Chithisinghpora massacre.

It is notable here that on the evening of 20 March 2000, about 20 unidentified persons, widely believed to be Indian Security Forces, had massacred 35 innocent Sikh men and boys in a cold blooded and brutal manner. The Sikhs of Chithisinghpora had been celebrating Hola Mohalla at the local Gurdwara, when they were singled out from the villagers, many of whom were also Muslim and Hindu.

A popular image of crying children has been printed on this ticket commemorated to the Chithisinghpora massacre under the ‘Homeless Children’ title.

It may be recalled here that the former US president Bill Clinton had disclosed in his autobiography that the Indian government massacred 35 Sikhs in Chithisinghpora to blame Pakistan ahead of his visit to India.
