Unidentified Assailants Fire Gunshots on Peer Mohammad’s House

CHANDIGARH—On the intervening night of August 19 and August 20, some unidentified assailant fired gunshots on the entrance gate of AISSF president S. Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad’s native house situated in village Peer Mohammad (situated on Moga-Amritsar Highway). The incident came to light when Peer Mohammad’s father S. Gurcharan Singh found signs of the gun shots and residuals of cartridges on returning from the Gurdwara Sahib.

On being approached by media, S. Gurcharan Singh informed that he inquired about it from his neighbors and they expressed innocence about it by saying that they didn’t pay attention by thinking that it might be sound of firecrackers.

Seeking high level probe in this concern, S. Gurcharan Singh informed that his family doesn’t have any kind of rivalry with anyone. He added that his elder son S. Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad is living in Chandigarh from long time while the younger one is serving as Deputy Superintendent at Kapurthala Jail.

Congress leader S. Inderjit Singh Zira, Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha, AISSF leader Bhai Gurmukh Singh Mallurania have condemned the incident.

On being contacted by media, SHO Harinder Singh informed that shots were fired from 12 bore Pump Action Gun. He added that although AISSF president S. Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad was not present at the time of incident, but his father, wife and other relatives were present in the home.
